Members,
This year we are looking forward to making strides to become an
AKC affiliated club. We hope to be able to become active in holding
AKC events. We will use these tools to help further our support of our
breed and to make a positive influence on the future of the basenji
which we all love and admire.
We also want to be a club that reaches out to every basenji
owner. We realize that by reaching out and offering friendship and
support to the new basenji owners, including those who maybe didn't
realize exactly what was involved with owning a basenji, we can
possibly help resolve some issues that later lead to a rescue situation.
We want to further encourage health education and testing so
that one day every basenji can live a full and healthy life.
Lets all get in there and work to make this year as a club one
that we can look back on and be proud as well as energized to keep
moving forward.
Larry

The New Governor Quinn
When Debbie had the TV on the other day, I heard the people inside the TV box talking about me. And
apparently, now I'm known as governor Quinn and I'm the governor of Illunoy. I'm not sure what a
governor is, but they said I would be living in a mansion in Springfield.
Now I've actually been to Springfield, and they have lots of good WalkyDog trails there so I'm
excited about living there. But I don't want to go live there by myself. I'm not going unless Debbie and
Vesper can go with me.
Debbie said that the governor goes to lots of big dinners. I like to eat dinner so that won't be too
hard. She also said that the governor signs bills. I don't know how to sign a bill, but I've shredded some
before, so I may do OK at that, too. And she said that the governor rides around in a limousine which is
a big car. I LOVE to ride in the car! One of the things that Debbie said that people
who live in Springfield do is to make laws for different things. (Laws are rules that humans have to
follow.) So I've been thinking about the laws I want to make:
1) Every dog must have it's own family.
2) Every dog should be taken to the off-leash dog park once per day, unless it's way too cold.
3) Dog food ingredients should always include Doritos.
4) All cats will be required to live in their own town.
5) Every town in Illunoy will need to have at least one WalkyDog trail in it.
Debbie also says that the governors always have their portraits hanging in the big round building in
Springfield. I want my portrait taken with my lure coursing jacket on and all of my ribbons behind me.
Then I want my portrait to be printed up five times bigger than what I really am. I'm really excited to be
named governor of Illunoy. I hope all of you can come visit me in my mansion!
